Limitations
The app employs a range of tricks to reduce battery usage but it's still draining quite a bit. You'll have to check your device to see how it affects your battery.
Battery drain is comparable to having constant audio playback.

What the signing certificate proves
Every Android app is signed with a private key that only its developer holds. The fingerprint on this page is a hash of the matching public certificate, and it proves continuity rather than identity: it tells you a build came from whoever signed the earlier ones.
