Compare photos by side-by-side, overlay, slider, transparent, differences, zoom
About this app
Stop squinting at your gallery. Find the perfect shot with professional-grade comparison tools.
Struggling to decide between two nearly identical selfies? Need to track your fitness progress or home renovation? VES Image Compare is the cleanest, fastest way to spot the subtlest differences between two images, right on your device.
We don't track you or clutter your screen with ads. It’s a lightweight tool designed for photographers, designers, and anyone who loves perfection.
Powerful Comparison Modes
* Side by Side: The classic view for a quick visual check.
* Overlay Tap: Stack images and toggle between them with a tap—perfect for spotting "ghosting" or movement.
* Overlay Slide: Use a draggable slider to reveal the "before" and "after" in real-time.
* Slide Transparent: Blend two images to check alignment or color shifts.
* Overlay Cut: A precision line-cut tool for detailed side-by-side analysis.
* Touch Transparent: Paint away the front image with your finger to reveal the image underneath. Pause the brush to zoom and pan both images together, then resume erasing exactly where you left off.
* Differences: Let the app do the work. Both images are compared pixel-by-pixel and the biggest difference regions are automatically highlighted with coloured circles — no squinting required.
Key Features for Better Results
* Synchronized Zoom: Zoom into one image, and the other follows perfectly. Ideal for checking focus and sharpness.
* Privacy First: No internet permission required. Your photos never leave your phone.
* Zero Ads: A clean, distraction-free interface.
* Flexible Loading: Pick from your gallery, use the camera, or "Share to App" directly from your photo browser.
* Pre-Comparison Tools: Rotate and resize images to ensure a fair comparison.
Perfect For:
* Before & After: Fitness transformations, makeup looks, or DIY projects.
* Quality Control: Comparing compressed vs. original images.
* Designers: Checking iterations of logos or UI mockups.
Completely Private & Local. Your data belongs to you. VES Image Compare works entirely offline. All data is stored in your local cache and can be cleared at any time via your device settings.

How to install this safely
How to verify the file you downloaded
Before you install anything, confirm the file is the one described here. On a computer, run shasum -a 256 your-download.apk (macOS or Linux) or certutil -hashfile your-download.apk SHA256 (Windows), then compare the output character-for-character with the SHA-256 on this page. If a single character differs, the file is not the build we recorded — delete it.
What the signing certificate proves
Every Android app is signed with a private key that only its developer holds. The fingerprint on this page is a hash of the matching public certificate, and it proves continuity rather than identity: it tells you a build came from whoever signed the earlier ones. Android enforces this at install time — if a package claiming to be com.vincentengelsoftware.vesandroidimagecompare is signed with a different key, the system will refuse to install it over your existing copy. A fingerprint that changes between releases is worth pausing on, because a repackaged app that has been modified by someone else cannot keep the original signature.
How to roll back to an earlier version
If the current release misbehaves, 2.3.5 is the last build before it. Android will not install an older version code over a newer one, so you must uninstall VES - Image and Photo Compare first — which clears its local data unless you have a backup. Reinstall the older APK only if its signing fingerprint matches the build you already trust, and check the API range: an older release may target an Android version your device has moved past.
Why we list sources instead of hosting everything
The official store channel is almost always the right choice: it updates automatically and carries the publisher's own distribution guarantees. A direct APK is useful when a device has no store access, when a rollout has not reached your region, or when you need a specific version — and only when the publisher has authorized that copy. APKBrowse does not list pirated, cracked, or unauthorized rebuilds of VES - Image and Photo Compare, and a listing is removed when the evidence for it stops holding up.

Permissions Required
What each permission lets VES - Image and Photo Compare do. A highlighted one is worth a second look — not necessarily wrong, just worth asking whether this app needs it.
Previous Versions
The signing certificate fingerprint for this release is on record, so a build that does not match it did not come from this publisher.
