About this app
Ledger Lantern is a personal budgeting app that never asks for your bank login. You enter transactions manually or scan a receipt with the camera, and the app does the categorization on the device using a small local model. Everything stays in a local database you can export as plain CSV whenever you like. There is no account, no bank aggregation, and no subscription — which means more typing than a connected app, and that is the explicit trade.

Is it safe to install Ledger Lantern from an APK?

Does the app connect to my bank?

How to verify the file you downloaded
Before you install anything, confirm the file is the one described here. What the signing certificate proves
Every Android app is signed with a private key that only its developer holds. The fingerprint on this page is a hash of the matching public certificate, and it proves continuity rather than identity: it tells you a build came from whoever signed the earlier ones. Android enforces this at install time — if a package claiming to be com.quillstone.ledgerlantern is signed with a different key, the system will refuse to install it over your existing copy.
